Shutting Down the House

We're four or five days away from locking the doors and throwing away the keys. The boat awaits us, pining for the seas. Where to first? Buzzards Bay to Martha's Vineyard to meet up with Kelly and Paul. Maybe they'll join us for our renaming ceremony!

We're on our way tomorrow morning. We'll arrive in Falmouth, MA by 9:00 p.m. or so and then Tuesday morning we'll be on the boat to Martha's Vineyard. We'll be on the island from Tuesday until Sunday. Hopefully we can connect.

Well we're finally in reasonable enough shape that we can start to communicate & someday soon we may actually go sailing. Arrived a week ago Sunday & spent the next 5 days working on the boat to get ready to go in the water. Kids were great through long hot (100 degF!) boring days and did a fair amount of scrubbing when the heat wasn't too unbearable. Otherwise they sat in the shade & read while we worked. Anyway, we got in the water Friday.

Hi Darlene and family,
Are you actually sailing now? It is August 10 and we have had a week of divine weather here this week with temps about 24 and no humidity. Sooo I have started on my first major retirement project- re painting our deck. Have prepped all the railings and started to paint today. Nice change from lesson prep which I have usually started to think about at this time of the summer.
Will have lots of time to follow your progress over the next year!
Cheers
