Feeding sugar to the birds at Waderick Wells. These guys are less threatening than the iguanas.

Leaving our plaque on Boo Boo Hill. Cruisers leave a wooden plaque with their boat name on a hill atop Waderick Wells. We looked for but couldn't find Ciguano Do Mar.

These two pictures are from our 4 hour hike around the island at Warderick. We went from limestone cliffs to thick underbrush to sand flats. We actually earned our cold beers that day.

These nurse sharks frequent the dock at Compass Cay Marina. There are up to 15 at any time the largest about 8ft long & though some folks climb in & swim with them, them we elected to just feed them & pet their backs as they swam under the dock.

Hi Guys,
Sounds like you're making good progress down island. I don't have my charts so my geography is a little rusty but I'd guess you're not too far from Georgetown.
The pics are really great and everyone seems to be having a terrific time, especially Steve, (that may be because of the logo on his new hat!).
We had a really nice B'day party for you, Dar, in New Market on Feb. 9th ... cake, loot bags and everything ... and Mike took some pics so I expect he will send them ...wish you were there .. we don't need much excuse for a party, as you know!
No we didn't leave a boat plaque on Boo Boo Hill ... we didn't have an artist on board like you guys. We did though leave a boat card at Lorraine's Cafe at Black Point so look for that!
Looking forward to more news and pics ...get one of Steve doing his James Bond schtick in Thunderball Cave at Staniel Cay.
Love and hugs to all,
Peter & Gerry

So, I am sitting in Merrickville working the expedia.ca account and this guy name Jeff calls. And I look over his itinerary and see he is going to an out-Cay in the Bahamas and I think to myself I've been there....but then, wait. Mara....I know a Mara and so I say to Jeff, who is trying to figure out what documents to bring to the airport because he bought his tickets on-line, and I say - So Jeff, are you flying to Georgetown tomorrow to meet a sailboat? I hear this pause and then Jeff isn't sure, so I say, to meet Doug and Darlene? Another pause. Then there is a recognition and Jeff says- Ummm, yah, how did you know that?
I have to own up.
It's like everyone's worst nightmare where the guy on the help line who is on the other side of the phone knows exactly what you're wearing and why you're calling. YIKES!
Soooo - Guys, how is it going? Cary and me tapped into this blog sometime ago when you were on the outer banks, after Bill told us about your adventure.
Looks like the pirates of the caribbean have you entranced now.
Hey - no idea when, where or if you plan do make it back to Toronto but if you sail thru the 1000 islands. We'll have to do lunch on the rock - FYI :

Hello,
In response to Christine, I remember when I was a kid and we went to BORC in the winter and handfed seeds to chickadees their feet and feathers did tickle quite a bit. It looks like you guys were discovering the same thing :)
Darlene, not only was it a party, it was a *surprise* party, with invitations, a cake, singing, loot bags with loads of toys and candy... You missed a great celebration. Hope your boat-side festivities were equally as fun :)
Keep well guys!
